Overview: Bruce as been a professional wedding video cameraman and producer for over a decade and editing both his own and other's footage. We use 2 x high definition cameras. The main camera is for both fixed and mobile shots to capture the intimate scenes of the wedding ceremony. The second camera is set in a fixed position and usually will be set at wide angle. The scenes of Preparations, Still Photography and other activities of your wedding day are filmed in a fly on the wall fashion. We feel that being as unobtrusive as possible is the key to an accurate record of your wedding day. Our intention is to create a natural, classic and candid approach to your wedding video. However we are not fixated on our own techniques for filming and editing, we are happy to work in any style to suit your wishes. Fee structure:
Wedding Video (Sydney rates): $400.00 to film for 5 hours; $600.00 to film for 8 hours video coverage; $700.00 to shoot for 12 hours plus $100 for each hour over 12 hours coverage 2 x HD video cameras on all shoots (2 x camera operators – for ceremony and speeches - second video camera usually fixed wide angle) Extra travelling time outside the Metro area:- $60.00 per hour Editing 15 - 30 minutes with audio and music* (mixed with stills) - Includes cleaned up video footage – 2 x hours on a separate DVD (3 x copies of highlights DVD – 1 x copy of Raw footage DVD) - $700 – 1,100 30 - 45 minutes video with audio and music* (Includes cleaned up raw footage – 2 x hours on a separate DVD) - $1,100 – 1,300 60 minute Documentary video style with audio and music* with 5 minutes highlights set to music* - $1,600 Payment: 20% deposit. Balance due at least 2 weeks prior to your wedding. Wedding videography styles: There are several styles of wedding videography. These are some of the most popular ones: Journalistic – This is a documentary style. The camera follows the time line of the wedding. Cinematic – A dramatic representation. Special effects and Hollywood techniques are used extensively. Storytelling – This is a nostalgic/sentimental approach often using a narrator. The footage is similar to the journalistic video. We, at photoprofessionals, rarely stick to any one of these techniques. We mix and match to suit the occasion and the wishes of the bride and groom. These are typical finished products: Highlights –About 10 minutes, covering the wedding's highlights. We can upload to You-tube or Vimeo so you can share with family and friends. Short form – The edit covers 15-45 minutes of the most important parts of the wedding. Traditional – A long form wedding video. 2 hours without much editing. Love story – Snippets of how the couple met, interviews with friends an family, beach scenes, slow motion, culminating in vows etc. This can be also be editted in the format of a music video.

Tips for great wedding video

1. Speak to the videographer who will be videotaping your wedding several weeks before the big day. Discuss your needs and make sure that he/she is right for you. Remember, detail is everything

2. Make it clear to your photographer that the video is as important to you as the photography. Sometimes if you employ wedding photographers and videographers from different studio, the two teams can clash in as far as being in each others' shots. Because we at Photoprofessionals offer wedding video service combined with the photography, our team has years of experience working as a team.

3. Prior to the wedding, get the bridal and groom party (eg Parents, grandparents, friends) on videotape to sharing their favorite story or childhood memory of you. This makes for a great same-day video edit.

4. Don't neglect the audio - It's as important as the video. Some videographers use on-camera microphones only. The wedding ceremony and exchange of vows are an important part of the final footage. We use high quality external microphones to capture everything in high quality audio.

5. Lighting is very important to both video and photography. Some people prefer a romantic candle-lit wedding, but that doesn't give the videographer much light to work with. It's best to allow either an on-camera light or better still, free standing lights. The results will be better and it won't take away from the mood.

6. If you are planning a big wedding or if your budget allows, consider hiring a second videographer- it will cost a little more, but you'll get that "studio quality" video in the final edit with switching between the two cameras.

7. Remember to include the videographer in your meal-plan during reception. He/she will be working hard all day for you and a well nourished videographer will have more energy to capture all those special moments.

8. Keep reminding yourself that "you get what you pay for" - Please budget accordingly. Your wedding video will be a treasured possession forever. A finished edit by a professional videographer will cost upwards of $2000 and is worth every cent.
