The trend is that more and more people choose a "jpeg only"
portrait shoot. If you choose this option, we can re-adjust the prices down to
reflect the fact that no printing will be required. We are happy to put your
photos up on a public site such as Picasa.
We have many associate photographers all around Sydney, so if you are interested
in a portrait session either in your home, a location shoot or going to a
professional photo studio, please give us a call. We service the entire
metropolitan area.
What to expect from
your portrait photography session: By and large, we are guided by
the client as far as their individual requirements. Remember though,
portrait photographers are as much artists as they are a scientists, so
it is advisable to let your photographer call at least some of the shots
(no pun intended). Most people are not aware of their best features,
best profile or any other prominent aspects of their face or body. We
are trained to instantly recognize these features and to capture them in
a way that reflects your "essence".
We take several shots, often in similar poses, but with slight
variations. This might seem a bit tedious, but results always speak for
themselves, so patience always pays off.
Most portrait photographers prefer natural light. Depending on the
location and weather, this may not be available in sufficient
quantities. Artificial light can include flash (either on camera or off
camera), but increasingly you'll find that many photographers use
continuous low energy lighting. This emulates the properties (colour
temperature) of the sun. Either way, your photographer will know which
option is most suitable.
The best advice is to enjoy your portrait shoot - it will show in
the final results.
